L was sweet enough to drive me up the mountains, as I really needed a fix!! The roads were dry, and the weather was cold (the evenings were in the 20s, and us without propane heat - just a space heater we would "hibernate" in the bedroom with as we caught up on movies), and the 1st morning it snowed!!! This is "my" Aspen:
The snow melted that afternoon, and it reached the upper 40s, so we tried our hands at fishing. Did I tell you that L gave me a real tackle box for Christmas?! Didn't even get a bite, but it was beautiful!!
Trees are missing - we don't know if it is because of the muti-million dollar homes going in on the lake, or just the cutting down of diseased/dead pine trees from the Pine Beetles. We only stayed the 2 nights, but it was a great beginning to the season ahead!!!
Enjoy as I did!!!
To my daughter, Kat (thank you so much for the beautiful book, card & coffee card! I have my tissue handy..), daughter-in-laws, Angela (see your gorgeous flowers?!) & Michele, to my sister, Shally (who Mom couldn't live without!!), my Mom, my other, loving "mom", Madeline, L's mom............every woman who has had a hand in raising kids....this is your day!!
And don't forget to thank the kids, too!! If it weren't for them, we wouldn't have this day as an excuse to relax!!!!
Enjoy!! I'm off to work!
(I said de-iced, not de-loused!) This is what I was leaving behind in Denver, as I jetted off to Seattle:
And some more pic of my trip...Lauren with her new "baby" Grandma got her:
Jack's new shirt he got to wear with Grandma:
Me with my boys, Matt & Sean:
And finally us adults got a few hours out to visit and play slots!:
Enjoy!
Will get more later, but here is my Mother's Day balloon bouquet I got from my ex's wif, Les, and me and the 5 grandkids, at the bar-b-q I had last Sunday!
I miss them already!
And, many, many thanks to my daughter-in-law, jacksmom , for all the help and support she gave me with my weekend adventure with the kds!!!!!!
Enjoy!
